A granddaughter recounts how her grandmother lives on through time in the kitchen with her cookbook.
Margot Kahn’s grandmother fled Poland in 1938 when she was 19 years old, bound for Cuba, where she and her mother and sister would spend two years before immigrating to the United States.
“She didn’t bring much with her from Poland,” Margot says, “but she did bring recipes.”
A year ago Margot began “turning pages in the recipe book” and made new connections with her family’s culinary heritage.
