The Rev. Alfred T. Day, chief historian for The United Methodist Church, asks, “If you had to tell the Judeo-Christian story in a word, what would that word be?”
Love. Grace. Covenant. Law. Peace. Hope. Joy. Reconciliation. Justification. Resurrection. Forgiveness. Healing. Redemption. Sanctification.
Day calls those words “worthy” then continues, “But here is a word I’ll bet you didn’t think of: “THROUGH.”
Exploring scripture and the Wesleyan heritage, Day finds hope for the future because, “The Holy Spirit stirs in the thick of the THROUGH.”
