Deadlines are coming in late December and early January for the payment of 2020 Ministry Shares and the filing of Table 1, 2, and 3 reports.
Year-end is always a demanding time for the local church and the Conference Treasury Department. The common goal is to make sure that payments and statistics are accurate and applied appropriately.
Rich Pittenger, the Accounts Receivable Clerk for the Conference, offers these reminders:
- We would ask that you please double-check your statement that you receive through the mail and make sure that it matches your records. If you see anything that doesn’t look right, please contact Rich as soon as possible to correct it. It would be great to get things fixed now before the craziness of year-end.
- The 2020 Conference Ministry Shares deadline is Thursday, January 7, 2021. Please make sure that any donation for 2020 is on Rich’s desk (not just postmarked) on or before January 7. Items received after this date will be counted towards the fiscal year of 2021. Online payments for 2020 should be made on or before Monday, December 28, 2020. This is to ensure that it is deposited into the correct year. Sometimes there can be a delay in processing these payments through the bank, so be sure to get them in as early as possible. Any online payments made after December 28, 2020, may be applied to 2021. Rich does not have a way to date online payments prior to when they post.
- Churches are sometimes eager to pay 2021 Ministry Shares early in the year. Please wait to turn these funds in until after Wednesday, January 13, 2021. This helps the Treasury keep the fiscal years separate and avoid applying funds into the wrong year.
Conference Statistician, Pamela Stewart, reminds churches that they should have received an email during the first week of December outlining the 2020 instructions for the Local Church Statistical Report to the Annual Conference, or Tables 1, 2, and 3. If you have not seen that email, please contact Pamela right away; 517-347-4030 ext. 4137.
Right now, the most important thing is for churches to make sure they have a working login for Ezra at www.ezra.gcfa.org. If your username ends with a “p” it is invalid, and you need a different login. If you have a concern and are unable to reach Pamela, please ask your District Executive Assistant for help.
As a reminder, the period for reporting Tables 1, 2, and 3 is December 30, 2020, through January 30, 2021. This final date is firm, and no exceptions will be made. Please start now gathering the information you need to complete your report within that 30-day window.
