Save the date for an online small group Bible study sponsored by the Michigan Conference on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The study will focus on Embracing God’s Call, a new resource from the General Commission on Religion and Race.

In a polarized world, where we are often told who is not included, the gospel invites us to consider how all persons are created in God’s image and part of the beloved community. This four-week Bible study via Zoom seeks to support participants who want to respond to the challenges we face today, especially those asking: “What does diversity, equity, and inclusion mean for me as a follower of Christ?” As disciples of Jesus, we are called to reflect on how the gospel’s teachings urge us to embrace and champion God’s love for all.

During the four weeks of February 2025, the Michigan Conference Connectional Ministries Team and conference facilitators will offer online small groups focused on Embracing God’s Call, a new study produced by the General Commission on Religion and Race. Daytime and evening options will be available for laity and pastors to join one of the four-week small groups.

A January pre-webinar, “Language Diversity: Growing in Intercultural Communication,” facilitated by Dr. Sarah Hercula, will give participants time to explore, build common language, and begin to form relationships with fellow participants.

The cost for all four sessions of Embracing God’s Call and the January pre-webinar is $10 per person, with a sliding scale available. Pay what you can, if you can, when you can — don’t let resources hinder your participation. Have extra resources? Pay $20 to cover yourself and another participant. Want to sign up for a group? The cost for four or more participants is $25.

Mark your calendars now for February 2025 and watch for specific days and times to sign up for your small group experience. Registration is coming soon.
