Lay members to get oriented for AC

Members voting at Annual Conference

Lay members to Annual Conference are invited to a Zoom orientation on May 4 or 6. First-time participants and those needing a refresher are welcome.

LAURA WITKOWSKI
Associate Director for Lay Leader Development, Michigan Conference

Is this your first time participating in the Michigan Annual Conference? Or do you need a refresher on what to expect at Annual Conference? The Michigan Conference Board of Laity has two opportunities for lay members to get oriented:

    • Thursday, May 4, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm EDT
    • Saturday, May 6, from 9 to 10 am EDT

The two dates include duplicate information, so it’s only necessary to attend one of them. Pick the time that works best for you!

Both sessions will be on Zoom. No need to register, but contact me at [email protected] if you have yet to receive an email with the Zoom link and passcode.

Members of the Board of Laity will give a quick presentation on what you need to know for Annual Conference (AC) and then open it up for questions. Topics include:

    • the purpose of AC,
    • the role and responsibilities of the lay member to AC,
    • terminology,
    • procedures,
    • and more!

Our time together will be informal, fun, and informative!

All lay members are invited. This orientation is for you if this is your first time attending AC or if you just need a refresher.
