Michigan pastor guides Bible project

Terry Wildman, pastor at Northport Indian UMC, is leading a scripture translation project, The First Nations Version of the Bible.

His Facebook page describes him as “grandfather, father, husband, storyteller, songwriter, author, wisdomkeeper, and Jesus follower.”

In this feature from the Christian Courier, meet Terry Wildman, who is also the pastor of Northport Indian United Methodist Church on the Grand Traverse District.

With his guidance, a new version of the New Testament is underway, written by First Nations people, for First Nations people. The aim is to share God’s Word in English, made culturally relevant through the storytelling style of Native Elders.  Read more
