Michigan UMs in Liberia

Four persons from the Michigan Area are currently in Liberia to participate in the Annual Conference session there.
The Rev. Tom Robinson, the Rev. Duane Miller, and Diana Miller–are making this trek–along with the Rev. Bill Haggard. The Millers are representing the Liberia Partner Summit and the Saginaw Bay District Liberia Task Force. Robinson and Haggard will be present for the Detroit and West Michigan conferences respectively.

The Detroit Conference has a covenant relationship with the Liberia Conference that was forged in 1998.

Bishop John Innis, who was elected and assigned the episcopal leader of Liberia in 2000 will retire at the end of this year, making this his last Annual Conference.

The group left the U.S. on February 6th and will arrive back in Michigan on the 18th.

Duane, Diana and Tom will reunite with friends and colleagues from previous trips. This will be Bill’s first experience in Liberia.

Diana is blogging at Ubuntu.ddmiller.net. This provides an opportunity to follow their visit. Pastors Duane and Tom will preach during the Clergy Session.
