The Michigan Conference has hired Melanie Zalewski as the Central Bay District’s executive assistant. She will also serve as their finance officer/treasurer.
On January 13, 2025, Melanie Zalewski returned to the Michigan Conference of The United Methodist to serve the Central Bay District as its executive assistant. She was also hired to take on the responsibilities of the district finance officer/treasurer.
Melanie previously worked in the West Michigan Conference for eight years as part of the former Heartland District Office and is excited to be back in a familiar role.
Melanie is an alumnus of Central Michigan University and has extensive experience in administration, human services, education, and program management.
In her spare time, Melanie enjoys adventures with her 7-year-old son, Mason, visiting local restaurants, finding treasures at garage sales and thrift stores, and relaxing at northern Michigan beaches. Melanie and Mason moved to Traverse City in 2023 and share their home with two spoiled cats, Dash and Ozzie.
