Rev. Webley J. Simpkins Jr.
We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Rev. Webley Judson Simpkins Jr., age 88, who died on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at J&K Assisted Living in Palm Bay, Florida. Webley was a Retired Elder of the Michigan Conference who served at Birmingham: First, Midland: First, Pigeon: First, Marquette: First, Marysville, and Trenton: First before retiring in 1994. He also served in New Jersey, Washington DC area, Indiana, and Florida.
Webley’s hobbies included camping, hiking, canoeing and bird watching. He was also a Trekkie. He enjoyed, a wide range of music and books and was a singer. Webley was married for 63 years to his wife Betty (Powell) who passed away in 2016. They had four daughters; Susan Watkins (Carl), Agnes Gooch (deceased), Karen Lorenzini (Craig), Diane Anderson (Scott). They were blessed with eleven grandchildren; Carl Watkins Jr. (Rhonda), Kellie Bray, Janice Rae (Jim), Aaron Champagne (deceased), Dan Lehman (Kelly), Robbi Charles, Amanda Lightner (Kenny), Daniel Lorenzini (Shelby M.), Michael Lorenzini (Shelby L.), Cassandra Upshaw (Desmond), David Anderson and twelve great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, September 21 at the Lorenzini home in Florida to celebrate Webley’s life.
