Rev. Robert L. Pumfery, 80, died Monday, June 6, 2016. He is survived by his spouse, Carole Pumfery.
Rev. Pumfery served in the following appointments in the West Michigan Conference: Camden/Montgomery 1965; transferred to Mindanao Conf. Jan. 5, 1969; transferred from Mindanao Conf., New Buffalo/Lakeside 1974; Muskegon Heights: Temple 1979; Allegan 1983; Three Rivers: First 1990; Ovid: United 1997; Retired 1999; Townline/Breedsville 1999 – October 31, 2002.
Rev. Pumfery also served at St. Johns Church in Wangeria, New Zealand. The Pumferys also spent four-and-a-half years as missionaries in the Philippines. Bob also served as Chaplain with Wings of Hope Hospice, Allegan.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Simpson United Methodist Church, Bangor Michigan with visitation at 10:00 am. Visitation will be at Miller Funeral Home (Bangor) on June 9, 2016 from 5 to 8 pm.
