Plans turn to action February 24

The 2019 special called session of the General Conference begins with a Day of Prayer on February 23. The event will be livestreamed on gc.michiganumc.org.


Delegates prepare. Bloggers write. Panels discuss. Congregations pray. All leading up to the 2019 General Conference now ten days away.

On February 6, a panel, “Perspectives on a Way Forward,” was moderated by Vicki Brown, News Director for United Methodist News Service.

Spokespersons for four major plans to be considered at the 2019 General Conference are:

  • the Rev. Mark Holland, One Church Plan;
  • the Rev. Rob Renfroe, Traditional and Modified Traditional Plans;
  • the Rev. Chris Ritter, Connectional Conference Plan;
  • and the Rev. Althea Spencer-Miller, Simple Plan.
