Since 2017 Lynda Sylvain has served as a US-2 in Detroit. She speaks here about her work at Motown Mission.

In this episode of Fearless Fellows, Lynda Sylvain, a Global Mission Fellow from Haiti, shares how her work in the city of Detroit ties into her future hopes for continued mission work.

Lynda serves at the Motown Mission as Hospitality and Volunteer Coordinator. Housed at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, Motown Mission helps young people engageĀ  in “economic disaster recovery” work in the love of Jesus Christ in the City of Detroit.

The Global Mission Fellows Program is a 2-year mission service opportunity for young adults, ages 20-30, to work in social justice ministries. Fellows leave their home communities and work either in the United States or internationally. This graduate-level fellowship allows participants to address the root causes of oppression and alleviate human suffering alongside community organizations in a variety of issue areas, including public health, migration/immigration, education, and poverty.
