Fry, Charles Earl, Rev. Dr.

Rev. Dr. Charles Earl Fry, 85, of Grand Rapids died January 23, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Betty Jean Phillips Fry, his wife of more than 65 years, survives him.

Rev. Fry served in the following appointments in the West Michigan Conference: [Scotts 1949]; Scotts/Climax 1951; Decatur 1953; Benton Harbor (Assoc.) Sept. 1956; Grand Rapids: Aldersgate 1959; Kalamazoo: Parchment 1964; Conf. Assoc. Program Director 1968; Battle Creek: First Jan. 15, 1973; Central District Supt. 1978; Grand Rapids: Trinity 1984; Retired 1989

Visitation will be held at Metcalf and Jonkoff Funeral Home, located at 4291 Cascade Rd., SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Visitation hours will be Friday, January 30th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, located at 227 Fulton St., SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.   A private internment will be held at the Big Prairie Township Cemetery of Newaygo County.

Memorial gifts should be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Grand Rapids or the Clark Retirement Community Benevolent Fund.
