Believer in ‘three-ness’ … meet St. Patrick

Saturday, March 17 is Saint Patrick’s Day. Learn more about the legendary Irish priest.

Born around 385 CE to a rich family in Roman Britain, young Patrick’s life took a turn when kidnapped and taken north, as a slave, to Gaelic Ireland. There he was called by God, and he trained to be a priest after returning to his homeland.

As this week’s Read the Spirit explains, “Following ordination [a dream] prompted Patrick to do what no one expected: to return to Ireland. Patrick worked to convert the pagan Irish. With a three-leaved shamrock in hand to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagans, St. Patrick converted many.”
