AC 2018 countdown

Some reminders to members with the 2018 Michigan Annual Conference just two weeks away.

  1. Legislative Committee assignments were emailed to members this week. Check your inbox and/or your junk folder. Legislative Committee work will be done Thursday night, May 31.
  2. Be ready for informed voting by checking out the Legislative Guide here. There are a number of social justice items, edits to the Conference Plan of Organization, and action on a 2019 budget that’s $250,000 less than this year’s.
  3. Online registration is closed but onsite registration will open on Wednesday, May 30 in the center of the main lobby of Grand Traverse Resort.
  4. There’s still time to sign up for the 5K that benefits Haiti Relief. Click here.
  5. Planning on a Health Screening? It’s necessary to register. Click here.
  6. The Midwest Mission Distribution Center truck will be in the parking lot. Click here for what goes in it.
  7. Special Offerings are taken at Opening Worship and the Service of Ordination and Commissioning. Learn more here.
  8. Don’t miss the chance to meet your District fellows at your designated breakfast session on Friday (Districts 1-5) and Saturday (Districts 6-9).
  9. During Conference we learn about the new model for mission engagement. Note: both the Six Lanes of the Advance and Spotlight Church programs end in December 2018.
  10. Take the opportunity to meet new Conference Staff, Wesley Directors, and Camp Directors while at Annual Conference. Make them feel welcome.
  11. Prepare to be informed and inspired by this year’s TOM talks on the many facets of “MINISTRY with*.” Click for the line-up of speakers.
  12. Celebrate the spiritual gifts of The Michigan Conference. At Conference you will receive a report of the Committee on Nominations that has 450 persons/positions fewer than last year. Those people are released for service in the district and local church.
