Patricia Taylor, student at Asbury Theological Seminary, says soul care begins at the foot of a messy cross.
Patricia S. Taylor is a seminary student serving as the Prayer Ministry Coordinator of Trinity Hill UMC in Lexington, KY. She ponders the need many have to clean up the cross.
“Smoothly polished wood isn’t even good enough sometimes,” she says. “We often prefer those polished metal and smooth ceramic crosses.”
Speaking as a person who cares for the souls of others, Patricia believes care begins by understanding, ” But, on one day, Jesus was on that cross—and it wasn’t pretty.”
