Please consider

  • Earnestly and fervently praying for the people of Flint and for all our elected officials.
  • Offer your time, talents and presence.  The opportunities to serve in Flint are developing day-by-day and will continue for the foreseeable future. Please contact Peter Plum, Crossroads District Emergency Water Crisis Coordinator [email protected] to offer your assistance. (Please note, this is an updated email address for Pete Plum.)
  • Designate a Sunday between now and Easter (March 27) when your congregation will receive an offering for the people of Flint. Use the online giving option– http://bit.ly/FlintRelief —  in your appeal and ask that your congregation share with others this opportunity to make a difference.  Gifts from individuals, small groups, congregations and other organizations and agencies will enable continued short-term assistance and lay the foundation for a long-term response.  We are focused on providing filters, testing kits, water, and information to all who have been affected by the crisis.

As Bishop Deb noted in her message, “We are a generous people and I thank you in advance for your gifts. This appeal is just a beginning. Our work continues. May we, Michigan United Methodists, continue to be a source of hope, a voice for justice, and a presence of compassion.”

Those wishing to donate through the mail may make checks payable to “Detroit Conference” with a note on the memo line #0918 Crossroads District Water Response. Mail to Detroit Conference Treasurer’s Office, 1309 North Ballenger Hwy., Suite 1, Flint MI 48504
