The District Conference will include worship, offering, business meeting (vote on budget and district leadership) followed by a training forum by Bishop Laurie Haller of the Iowa Conference. The registration form (link below) details the event and suggests reading materials to obtain prior to the event from the Cokebury online bookstore. Follow-up email will be sent to those pre-signing up for the District Conference with additional details.

The District Conference ONLINE- LIVE – Webinar ( some items pre-recorded) starts at 9:00 am with the Training Forum with Bishop Haller ending at noon.
Clergy and Laity are encouraged to sign-up for the District Conference via Live -Webinar, so voting may be done electronically by EWD clergy and laity (members) of East Winds District churches.
A limit of 10 voting laity members has been, set, for the event to limit the WEBINAR site usage. Should a local church’s registered members exceed ten (10), church administration will be contacted to determine the voting members on the WEBINAR EVENT be allowed to vote during the 11.7.20 District Conference.

Should a church’s registered members exceed ten (10), church administration will be contacted to determine the voting members. (The 2016 Book of Discipline ¶659.1 defers the composition of the district conference to the annual conference rules. The Michigan Conference Rules of Order 11.4.1 lists: “…Membership of the District Conference shall be all clergy members of the Michigan Conference appointed or residing in the District, and the professing members of all congregations located in the District. No congregation shall be represented by more than ten (10) professing members.”)

Business Meeting, including Nominations, Budget, Reports
Workshop Session led by Bishop Haller: Quietly Courageous; Leading the Church in a Changing World. The workshop is for both clergy and laity, and the workshop will serve as a training opportunity in lieu of the cancelled fall clergy forum.
