New Kalamazoo DS

JANUARY 11, 2016; LANSING MI —  Today, Bishop Deborah Kiesey announced that Rev. Dwayne Bagley will serve as the new District Superintendent for the Kalamazoo District, effective July 1, 2016.

Rev. Bagley currently is the pastor at Mason First United Methodist Church in Mason, MI, a part of the West Michigan Conference.

“Dwayne has served effectively throughout his ministry.” Bishop Deb said, “His quiet, but profound faith will be a blessing to the people of the Kalamazoo District and the Michigan Area as a whole.  I am pleased to welcome him to the cabinet.”

Dwayne Bagley grew up in Prairieville in southwest Michigan and attended Western Michigan University. Seeds planted at his home church- Delton Faith UMC- began to take root during this time largely through experiences made possible by United Methodist Campus Ministry. He holds a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Past appointments include Webberville UMC and Albion UMC. Rev. Bagley has also served as Dean of the Lansing District Senior High Camp, Registrar for the West Michigan Conference, Board of Ordained Ministry and Chair of the Lansing District Committee on Ministry.  He and his wife Shelly have two sons and two daughters.

“I am both humbled and honored.” said Rev. Bagley, “It’s also true that a mixture of emotions related to this new opportunity almost overwhelms me. It is my prayer that my gifts might be put to good use to serve the Church at what I think is a critical time in its unfolding history.”  He added, “I look forward to partnering with the people of the Kalamazoo District as we seek to play our role in the new thing God is doing in Michigan.”
