FaithAnne Marie Sawicki

FaithAnne Marie Sawicki, a beautiful “cup of sunshine” and living testimony to God’s abounding love and grace, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 8, 2021 as the result of a sudden and undetected shunt malfunction leading to a catastrophic brain injury.  Born on August 15, 2002, FaithAnne was the youngest daughter of Pastor Michael T. (Midland: Aldersgate) and Patricia Sawicki.

Everyone who ever met her has a story to tell since her positive attitude and joy impacted their life in a way that always left them filled with memories of her ever present and infectious smile.  Her short life inspired much love, joy, and laughter in the lives of so many people.  Even as a toddler, her favorite greeting to every stranger she met was “Hi! What’s your name?” She had a genuine interest in others and an uncanny ability to remember their names.

From the day she was born with Spina Bifida, she had many health problems to overcome, but her faith in Jesus Christ gave her a graceful elegance and the tenacity to never let those things stand in her way. If anything, she brought inspiration to all of us while we observed her tackle those obstacles head on.  She embodied the confidence that she could do all things through Christ who strengthened her and radiated a vibrant love of life.  She was a shining example of a kind and joy-filled follower of Christ.

A senior at Midland High School, FaithAnne loved singing in the MHS choir and with the Aldersgate Worship Band.  Her student co-op as a church receptionist was an ideal fit for her personality.  She was an active member of the Aldersgate Church and Remedy Youth Group.  She loved “wheeling” on the MHS track team, horseback riding with Tall-In-The-Saddle, and adaptive skiing with Challenge Mountain.  She looked forward to graduation and attending Delta College in the fall where she would pursue her aspiration of becoming an administrative assistant. Throughout her life, she discovered that the most rewarding way to overcome life’s hurdles is to persevere and finish the race. Well done, FaithAnne, you’ve crossed the finish line, you’ve won the race. Well done!

She was preceded in death by her Uncle Paul Sawicki, Grandpa Victor Sawicki Sr., Grandpa Tony Spagnuolo and her “Grandpa Stan”.  She is survived by her parents, sister Hannah Sawicki, Grandma Florence Sawicki, Grandma JoAnn Spagnuolo, Aunt Dawn Sawicki-Franz, Uncle Victor Jr. (MaryLee) Sawicki, Aunt Annette Spagnuolo, and cousins Billy (Andrea) Franz and Ahria, Alex Franz, Victoria Franz, Moriah (James) Graham, Oriana (Greg) Watson, Lacey Sawicki, Destiny Sawicki and many wonderful relatives and friends.

A funeral service for FaithAnne will be held on January 15, 2021 at 2pm at the Aldersgate Church located at 2206 Airfield Lane, Midland with the Reverend Gary Bondarenko and Steve Fair officiating.  The family will receive guests at Aldersgate Church from 1-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 14, 2021.  Interment will be at the Memphis Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, those planning a memorial expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations to Simpson Park Camp, 70199 Campground Road, Romeo, MI 48065. In light of the current COVID restrictions, a celebration of life picnic is planned for Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 1-5pm at the Aldersgate Church Pavilion in Midland.

FaithAnne’s arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wilson-Miller Funeral Home.  Condolences may be shared on the funeral home tribute page.
