Lay and clergy members are encouraged to review all the legislative and business materials that will be presented and voted on at the 2024 Michigan Annual Conference. This annual gathering of Michigan United Methodists will be held from May 30 to June 1, 2024, at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, MI, near Traverse City.

Read and download voting materials, legislation, the proposed 2025 budget, and everything you need to prepare for our time together from this web page. Watch video reports from key leadership members from this web page.

Printed copies of the legislation and other materials, except for the program guide, will not be available at Annual Conference. Please print your own legislative materials ahead of time or access them digitally while on-site.

Legislation and Legislative Committees

Click the button below to access the booklet containing all the legislative items to be voted on. There are 10 resolutions and a late posting on the Anti-Bias/Anti-Racism (ABAR) Education & Training for active clergy, conference staff, and district staff.

Legislative Committee assignments have been emailed to members. During next week’s Legislative Committee meetings, to be held on May 21 and 22, you will gather with other committee members to discuss, amend, and vote on legislation that will be brought to the entire Annual Conference.

If you have questions or have yet to receive your Legislative Committee assignment, email Sarah Vollmer, Annual Conference Registrar, at [email protected].

Proposed 2025 Budget

The Conference Council on Finance and Administration has released the proposed budget for 2025. Click the button below to read and download it. The conference budget shows a decrease of 8.4% from the prior year, in addition to a decrease of 8.8% for the benefits budget. There is a proposed 2% increase for salaries.

The proposed budget already has factored in the 2.6% base rate voted on at the 2024 General Conference, which affects the apportionments the Michigan Conference sends the general church to support our connectional ministries. This 2.6% base rate is slightly lower than what the Michigan Conference is currently paying.
