Robert K. Richards, husband of Rev. Ethel Stears, passed away on December 13, 2022. Bob was born in Hancock, Mi., in 1935 and remained in the Upper Peninsula until moving to Ann Arbor where he earned his masters and PhD. degrees. He spent most of his career in medical education and enjoyed the opportunity to be a mentor and advocate for his medical students.
In his first marriage, Bob became the father of Robert Erich and Adriane. In 1987 he was married to Ethel Stears and his family expanded to include her children, Mike and Debi. He found immense joy in following the activities and development of their ten grandchildren.
In retirement Bob enjoyed travel, spending time with family, reading and letter writing, as well as following his favorite sports teams. He served as a consultant in medical education for many years of his retirement. Bob was a man of faith and sang in church choirs for eight decades. Music brought much joy to his life. A memorial service was held at Trinity UMC in Grand Rapids.
