Sylvia A. Bouvier

December 1, 1939 – August 6, 2023

Pastor Sylvia Ann Bouvier eén Zeunges passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in St. Augustine, Florida with her two sons by her side.

Sylvia was the second daughter of Bruce and Osra Zeunges, born on December 1, 1939 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She married the love of her life Carl Clark Bouvier August 25, 1962. She received a B.S. from Western Michigan University, a M.A. from Oakland University, and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

Reverend Mrs. Sylvia A. Bouvier was ordained a Deacon in the United Methodist Church by Bishop Judith Craig in 1985. The congregations of the United Methodist Churches Sylvia served as pastor were: Aldersgate, Lakeville, Leonard, Bristol, Howarth and Paint Creek UMC. Sylvia served as the Oakland County Jail Chaplain and did missionary work in Columbia, Haiti and Bolivia.

Reverend Bouvier was preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband, Carl Clark Bouvier and is survived by her children Susan Kay Schatz, Jennifer Ann Sementkowski, David John Bouvier, Matthew Clark Bouvier and 11 grandchildren.
