December 3, 1934 – May 11, 2023

Wife of Pastor Charles L. Kolb, Jr., Lovona (Dena) Radene (Jenkins) Kolb, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Crestwood Assisted Living, surrounded by loved ones.

Per Dena’s wishes cremation has taken place and a scattering of ashes is scheduled for a date in the future.

Dena was born December 3, 1934, in Warm Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Ray and Crata (Blackwell) Jenkins. She graduated from Pontiac High School class of 1953. Dena married Charles Leroy Kolb Jr. on June 25, 1953. She was a devoted minister’s wife and drove bus for public schools for over 20 years. Dena was a member of the United Methodist Church of Grayling. She loved painting, backpacking, canoeing, camping, and simply being in nature. Dena would do oil paintings of nature photos that Charles had taken. She traveled to many places and enjoyed many cruises. Dena took great pride in her family. She loved all of their accomplishments and celebrated all of their achievements. Dena was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Dena is survived by her sons: David (Gwen Leckron) Kolb of Lawrence, Kansas and Nate (Kathleen) Kolb of Mt. Pleasant; daughter-in-law: Mary Kay Kolb of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren: Sarah (Brent) Campbell, Rachel (Eric) Godfrey, Hannah (Alannah) Alexander, Margaret (Elton) Clark, James (Mia Arkles) Kolb and Matthew Kolb; great-grandchildren: Elliott and Wesley Clark; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Connie and John Huschilt; and many nieces and nephews.

Dena was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Charles in 1988: son: Roger Kolb; daughter: Debbie Orvis; sister: Joanne Benoit; brother-in-law: Marv Benoit; and son-in-law: Richard Orvis.
