Michigan to Liberia VIM trip planned

Liberia covenant partners to welcome Michigan volunteers Oct. 26 – Nov. 9, 2018.

The Rev. Terry Euper, Chairperson of the Crossroads District Haiti/Liberia Covenant Committee, announces a VIM opportunity that will send volunteers from Michigan to Liberia October 26 – November 9 , 2018.

As the Michigan Conference enters into a new covenant relationship with the Liberian Annual Conference (a covenant that has existed between the Detroit Conference and Liberia Conference for almost 20 years) this will be a wonderful opportunity to visit and experience, first hand, the vision and ministry of our African brothers and sisters.

The VIM group will meet with the Rev. George Wilson, the Liberia Conference Program Director and his team. The itinerary includes five different ministry sites in Liberia, opportunities to communicate with the people and doing hands on projects.

This project began as an effort of the Crossroads District Haiti/Liberia Covenant Committee, with the financial support of the Crossroads District Board of Missions. The trip was initially envisioned as a training opportunity for leaders of the Crossroads District, its congregations  soon to become parts of four new districts in the Michigan Conference.

The team is limited to ten participants. There are still openings and the opportunity is now being extended to the entire Michigan Conference.
