Kalamazoo Wesley celebrates

The public has a chance to say goodbye to the old Wesley Foundation building on the campus of Western Michigan University this Sunday, February 28 at 4:00 pm.

A last memory walk through the building begins at 4:00 p.m. Worship starts at 5:00 followed by a meal at 6:15. Join the celebration taking place at 2101 Wilbur Avenue, Kalamazoo.

The Wesley Foundation of Kalamazoo will host an open house of their new ministry center on Friday, March 11, 3:00 – 7:00 pm, at 820 Rankin Avenue in Kalamazoo.

The official dedication/blessing of the building occurs at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to celebrate as Wesley “Widens the Welcome.”

This event marks the completion of a five-year plan supported by the Kalamazoo District, West Michigan Conference, local congregations, alumni, friends and the Wesley Board of Directors.

Wesley Campus Ministry at Western Michigan University has provided a safe place for young people to connect since 1923. The current building is not handicap accessible, making it impossible offer fully inclusive ministry.

As fund-raising draws to a close, a GoFundMe campaign seeks to garner the remainder of the dollars needed. Click here to donate online.

The ministry center will serve the Kalamazoo and Western Michigan University community. It will also house the Kalamazoo District Office.
