“One Week, One Street” began with an idea to organize a local mission project to help meet the needs of people in Saginaw using volunteers from the Great Lakes Bay Region churches living out the command to love our neighbors. This effort is accomplished through a yearly week-long revitalization effort which takes place the last full week of June.
Over the past eleven years we have successfully collaborated with many Great Lakes Bay Region churches, youth groups, businesses and other nonprofits. As a result, crime has gradually reduced by 80% in the neighborhood since 2011. We believe that the region cares about Saginaw and its residents and by pooling resources and collaborating with existing organizations we can make a difference!
