The United Methodist Church is entering a new season, following historic polity changes at the 2020 / 2024 General Conference, the overwhelming support for worldwide regionalization, and a new vision statement that will propel United Methodist ministry into the future.
The 2026 Michigan Annual Conference, set for May 29-31, will focus on forming United Methodist identity — what sets us apart from other Christians and gives us our unique voice. Dr. Ashley Boggan, the General Secretary of the General Commission on Archives and History, will be the guest speaker.
To prepare for our annual gathering, conference leaders invite every local church in Michigan to plan a study of Laceye Warner’s “Knowing Who We Are: The Wesleyan Way of Grace.” This book offers a clearer picture of our Wesleyan way of following Jesus, centering on core values like God’s full grace for everyone and real-life transformation, how your faith leads to positive, visible change in your life, in your community, and in the world.
Published in 2024, “Knowing Who We Are” has six chapters and is perfect for small groups or individual study. In addition to the book in multiple formats, there is a leader’s guide and a DVD with short videos to guide group conversation. Buy and download the book and study resources.
