United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) has been sending volunteers worldwide for 50 years. Share your mission story, be a 50 at 50 church, or find other ways to celebrate this milestone.
Since 1976, UMVIM has offered a framework through which disciples can engage in short-term mission locally, nationally, and globally. Tens of thousands of United Methodists have been part of this program over the years. We are celebrating 50 years of volunteer-powered ministry, and there are several ways you can help us honor this milestone.
Share Your Mission Story
Share a God moment you experienced on a VIM journey, whether it was last year or 25 years ago. Your story can encourage and empower others to serve and partner with projects around the world! Send photos, an audio or video file from your phone, or a couple of paragraphs to [email protected].
Be a 50 at 50 Church
We are looking for 50 churches in each annual conference in the North Central Jurisdiction to contribute $50. Will you be one of the 50 churches in Michigan to step up and give? Learn about giving options.
Join a Team
Watch your local church, district, and conference newsletters and check this web page for teams looking for volunteers! There are service opportunities all around the world.
Share in Team Leader Training
Encourage your church to host an in-person training for those who wish to lead a team in the future! Plus, there are three online trainings being offered this year. The next four-session training begins on April 20. Check this web page to learn more.
Celebrate UMVIM Sunday
UMVIM Sunday can be celebrated on a Sunday that works best for your local church. Find resources and more information on this web page.
