The Michigan Annual Conference is five weeks away. Register now for Bonus activities … health screenings and fundraisers that benefit Disaster Response and Campus Ministries.

Annual Conference is not all about business and worship and presentations. There are other things that take place when Michigan United Methodists gather at Grand Traverse Resort.

There are some special fund-raising activities scheduled for the Wednesday before the official start. You can still sign up for these bonus events on May 29:

  • MIUMC GOLF Scramble benefits the Campus Ministries of The Michigan Conference. Begins with a shotgun start at 1 pm on May 29. The 4-person scramble is $80/person. Mulligans $5 each (limit 2). Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and last place. TO REGISTER contact Rev. Rich Burstall, 989-348-2974 or [email protected]
  • 5K Run-Walk-Elliptigo sponsored by the Conference Board of Pension & Health Benefits. Begins at 4 pm on May 29. Proceeds go to Michigan Disaster Response and Recovery. The $35 registration fee includes a t-shirt. Medals will be awarded for 1st overall for Men and Women and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each age bracket. It’s possible to donate even if you don’t do the 5K. The Conference Board of Pension & Health Benefits is also sponsoring an opportunity for Clergy Heath Screenings on Thursday, May 31, 6 am to 11 am and Friday, June 1, 6 am to 11 am in the Hospitality Room of the Grand Traverse Resort. Those enrolled in The Michigan Conference Active Group Health Insurance Plan are eligible to receive the screening at no charge. Retirees and others may receive the screening for $150 payable to PHP. Comprehensive test screen for diabetes, heart disease, kidney disfunction and cancer. Results are confidential and will be mailed to participants within two weeks after testing.

Appointments are necessary for the health screening. Active participants must make the appointment by noon on Wednesday, May 30. REGISTER HERE.
