Christina L. Beckwith

September 25, 1954 – February 22, 2023

Wife of Pastor Norman R. Beckwith, Sr. Heaven welcomed a beloved child of God Wednesday, February 22, 2023 when Christina “Chris” Lee Beckwith left this earth. She fought a long battle with cancer, but God was gracious and gave her time to see her children grow to adulthood. She was born September 25, 1954 in Greenville, Ohio and married Norman Beckwith, Sr. on May 25, 1984.

Chris is survived by her husband Rev. Norman Beckwith, Sr., sons, Norman Richard (Hannah) Beckwith, Jr. of Walker, MI, Jonathan D. Beckwith of Oakley, MI, and stepson, Rodney (Anna) Beckwith of Seaman, Ohio, her mother Roberta Ottman Rady, of Lima, Ohio, and five grandchildren. Chris also leaves behind two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Chris graduated from Anderson University where she studied teaching Spanish. She completed her training by spending time in Spain. It was an eye-opening experience for her. She also spent a year as a missionary in southern Texas. It was during her deputation that she met her husband. They wrote letters to each other until her year was completed and they were married.

More than anything, Chris loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended many of her sons’ athletic events and loved to cheer them on. Her family was always her highest priority. Chris was guided by her great Faith in God. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cathy Nichols of Gastonia, NC and her stepfather, James Rady of Lima, Ohio.

Private family services will be held. Public visitation will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Monday, February 27, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
