Beatrice Blomquist

Wife of Rev. Paul F. Blomquist, Beatrice Blomquist passed away on December 16, 2024. 

Lela Beatrice Blomquist, “Bea,” age 89, passed away December 16, 2024. Bea was born on October 26, 1935, in Wyandotte, Michigan, daughter of Clifford Benton and Juanita Evelyn Hunter (nee Adams). She met Paul and they married on August 27, 1955. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degree in Education from Wayne State University. Bea taught special education at Croswell-Lexington schools and was a third grade teacher in West Bloomfield. Her husband, Paul, served as a pastor for the United Methodist Church of which she was a member. She was an avid gardener, reader, baker, and cook. A true nurturer and a mama bear to her loved ones, she loved her family above all else. Bea had simple tastes and an iced coffee, book, and a fritter brought her joy. Bea leaves behind her children, Chris (Maureen), Mark (Melissa), and Craig (Elizabeth) Blomquist; and her proud grandchildren, Kate (Justin) Ariens, Andrew Blomquist, Mike Brooks, Corinne Brooks, Ashley (Bill) Richardson, and Siobhan Carter. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, Paul Frederick Blomquist, and her siblings: Barbara, Beverly, Shirley, and Ben. Bea will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Tawas, arrangements at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON.
