Arnold “Wesley” Crocker

June 23, 1933 – November 15, 2022

Husband of Pastor Doris Crocker, Wesley Crocker of Westland Michigan passed away November 15 at age 89 years old after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Doris, and his two sons, Stephen and Jonathan as well as eight grandchildren. Born in Newcastle, England, Wesley served two years in the Royal Air Force where he was stationed in Aden, Yemen. After completing his service, he became a Methodist minister and served many churches in the north of England including the Shetland Isles, the Eden valley, the Lake District, Rochdale and Seahouses.

In 1979 he answered God’s call to America to pastor the Congregational church in Alamo, Michigan. He also ministered at Rockwood First Congregational Church until he retired.

Wesley will be remembered as a faithful man of God, who lived his life in service to Christ. He is known by many for his kindness, his gentleness and compassion. He never met a stranger, never raised his voice in anger, had a unique gift of storytelling, and he deeply loved his wife of 63 years and his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service was held at the Rockwood First Congregational Church on November 28th.

Condolence cards welcome to Doris Crocker, 35700 Hunter Ave Apt 305, Westland, MI 48185

In lieu of flowers or gifts, please donate to the Fisherman’s Mission, which provides relief to fishermen and their families in the UK. Wesley was very passionate about caring for the welfare of the fishing community while in Shetland.
