Wife of Pastor Troy R. Lemmons, Barbara Jean (Allen) Lemmons, a long-time resident of Hurley, passed away in her sleep early Friday morning, Nov. 17, 2023, at the Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1933, a daughter of Harold and Ethel Allen.

Barbara was an accomplished artist in oil painting and created numerous arts and crafts, including sewing, knitting and using nature’s plants as a medium. Barbara especially enjoyed fishing throughout her life. Late in life, she loved word searches and table puzzles.

Barbara was a devout United Methodist and a faithful member of many United Methodist churches as she moved from one church to the next, serving God along with her husband. She was a lady of simplicity and gained satisfaction by following her heart in the care and compassion for others. She found pleasure during times with family and friends, but especially relished quiet times.
