Eleanor A. “Nan” Griffith

February 13, 1941 – June 4, 2024

Wife of Rev. Dr. Richard O. Griffith (Michigan Conference Retired Elder), Eleanor Ann “Nan” Griffith, age 83, of Southfield, Michigan, passed away on June 4, 2024. She was born on February 13, 1941, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to the late Hugh and Pauline Parker.

Nan was a gifted teacher with a love of Shakespeare. She dedicated the last 20 years of her career to educating young minds at The Roeper School. Nan’s passion for teaching left a lasting impact on her students and colleagues. She loved going to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and plays at the Hilberry Theater at Wayne State University.

She is survived by her son, Peter Griffith; daughter, Jane Davanzo; son-in-law, Phillip Davanzo; granddaughters, Katie Davanzo, and Cara Davanzo. Nan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Rev. Richard Griffith.

A service to honor Nan’s life will be held June 23 at People’s Presbyterian Church, 210 Smith St, Milan, MI. Visitation is at 2:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm.
