Hands4Detroit is October 3

The fourth annual Hands4Detroit will be held on Saturday, October 3. The Detroit Renaissance District invites persons of all ages to this day of service.
As in years past, individuas and churches may participate in a variety of projects. However rather than projects being located across the city, all activities will be located in Detroit’s Mt. Elliott Community. This eastside neighborhood is one of the city’s oldest with many homes built in the 1800s. H4D is partnering with the Mt. Elliott Business and Community Association (MEBCA) to make this effort a success.

Gleaners Community Food Bank is again collaborating with the Renaissance District on a food drive with a goal to collect 25,000 pounds of food. With nearly 24,000 United Methodists on the Detroit Renaissance District, a donation of one pound per member will nearly achieve the goal.

For the fourth year, H4D 2015 is being supported by United Methodist Communications. UMCom is assisting with advertising and promotion. For more information please visit, www.hands4detroit.org.

During a celebration in Frankenmuth on October 16, H4D will receive recognition and an award from Keeping Michigan Beautiful.
