J’Nevelyn (JJ) Fleming worked as a Christian Educator, Youth Director and Children’s Ministries Director for 37 years in 2 different United Methodist churches in McAllen and Austin, Texas. After retiring in 2021, she continues to lead Wonderfully Made sessions and works as a facilitator for the Trusted con Con Fianza training for the Rio Texas Conference of the UMC. J’Nevelyn finds the most joy with her husband as they enjoy living in Granbury, Texas, close to 7 grandchildren.

Overnight Accommodations

If you need to stay the night before or after, there are several hotels in Okemos that are reasonably priced. There are also many restaurants in the vicinity with a variety of price ranges. If you are planning to stay the night and need more information, please contact Kathy Pittenger.

 

List of Trained Trainers

One of the outcomes of this event is to have a list of trained trainers who are willing to travel to other churches to lead or assist with their Wonderfully Made Experience. You are not required to be a published trained trainer, but you will have an opportunity to do so at the conclusion of the event. More information about this will be shared at the event.

WHAT

A one-day training event to equip leaders to facilitate the Wonderfully Made Loved by God experience in their ministry setting or other churches. Wonderfully Made Loved by God is an experience for tweens to learn about their changing bodies, sexuality, relationships, and more through a Christian perspective. The event presenter is JJ Fleming, a trained trainer and experienced facilitator.

WHO

This event is designed for ministry leaders who work with children or youth. The event is also open to church or community members who are interested in participating.

WHEN

Monday, October 2, 2023
9:30am - 4:00pm (Eastern)

The ideal way to participate in this event is in-person. However, we will be recording the training for those who are unable to attend in-person. 

COST

We are offering a tiered registration fee structure to accommodate churches of different sizes and capacities. Those attending in-person will also receive access to the recording. Churches who are not Michigan Conference UMC please use Tier B or C when registering. Scholarships are available, please contact Kathy Pittenger for more information.

In-Person includes: refreshments, lunch, and supplies.

Tier A - $75 (subsidized cost)
Tier B - $100 (covers lunch and speaker fees)
Tier C - $125 (covers total costs)
Group Rate - $250 (For churches bringing 3 or more people) 

Recording Only - $50

You will also need to order the Wonderfully Made Facilitator Kit Download available from Cokesbury. A Participant Book is also available from Cokesbury.
