Wilma King, age 82, of Capac, Michigan died Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Tomlinson Adult Foster Care of Jeddo, Michigan. Wilma Jean Ross was born May 28, 1937 in Deckerville, Michigan. She is the daughter of the late Leroy and the late Dorothy (Innes) Ross. Wilma grew up in Deckerville and Marlette, Michigan. She is a graduate of Marlette High School, Class of 1955. Wilma married Rev. Willard Arthur King on June 4, 1955 in Marlette, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 29, 2012.
Wilma has lived in the Capac area for 22 years. She held several different positions throughout the years: teacher assistant for Imlay City High School, a store clerk at Dean’s Pharmacy, bus driver for Peck Schools, and a teacher aide for Genesee Schools. Wilma was a member of Capac United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano and was also a preschool assistant.
Wilma is survived by; three daughters: Karen (James) Kegler of Capac, MI, Connie (Gordie) Vandewarker of Flemingsburg, KY and Brenda (Donald) Harris of Zeeland, MI; her sister: Wanda (Eugene) Hillock of Jeddo, MI; her seven grandsons: Jeffrey (Julie) Kegler, Johnathon (Nikkie) Kegler, Samuel Soule, Steven (Haide) Soule, Brian Soule, David Harris, and Daniel Harris; and eight great-grandsons: Tyler, Austin, Noah, Matthew, Landon, Blaike, Sean, and Simon. Wilma was preceded in death by; her Husband: Rev. Willard King; her parents: Leroy & Dorothy Ross; and her three brothers: Gary Ross, Larry Ross, and Leroy Ross, Jr.
A private funeral service is being held at Capac United Methodist Church with Pastor Lisa Clark of Capac Zion United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place at Zion Evangelical Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, Michigan.
