Tamera Louise Moore, 79, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at her home. She was born on October 15, 1940 in Lake Odessa, MI, the daughter of Lavern and Shirley (Jackson) Wilcox.
Tamera graduated from Sunfield High School in 1958, as the homecoming queen. That same year, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene Moore. They moved to Iowa after they wed, where Gene attended Bible College in Osklossa. They eventually settled back home in Michigan, where she served alongside her husband in the Methodist Ministries. She loved God and people, occasionally helping with sermons when Gene was not available. She often acted as the pianist in most of the churches they’d served through the years. Tammy strived to live her life in a way that served both God and her community. She was always ready to lend a hand or help someone in need, regardless of what it was.
Tammy loved to sit and enjoy the sunshine; she also enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, baking, and going to car shows with Gene in their later years. Her family was always her top priority though, specifically her grandchildren. She was always there when they needed her or to cheer them on with gentle guidance and positivity. Tammy always looked on the bright side of any situation, never complaining, but remaining optimistic and loving, making her a joy to be around and so easy to talk with.
Surviving are her Children, PJ (Stacey) Moore of Fenton, MI and Jennifer (Rodney) Sturgis of Paw Paw, MI; Grandchildren, Carly Parker, Kyle Parker, Riley Moore, Sydney Sturgis, Haley Sturgis; Son-in-law, John Parker; Sister-in-law, Roberta (Patrick) Moore-O’Toole; Aunt, Beth (Lindy) Wilcox-Hynes and many other friends and family. Tamera was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, her husband, Rev. Eugene Moore, and a daughter, Tara Parker.
Friends and family will be received at the United Methodist Church of Paw Paw, on Monday, June 8, 2020, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm with Rev. David Small officiating. Those who attend will need to practice social distancing and use proper precautions. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery of Mattawan at a later date.
