Rev. Robert H. “Bob” Bough

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Rev. Robert H. “Bob” Bough, retired Detroit Conference clergy who died on May 13, 2019 at the age of 84. 

Bob was born November 23, 1934, in Highland Park, Michigan, the son of Henry and Ethel (née Taylor) Bough. Bob is well known to many in the Metro Detroit Area and across the former Detroit Conference.  He served in Pontiac: Covert, Vassar: First UMC, Madison Heights, and in Royal Oak. He was also on the staff at Nardin Park UMC and the Samaritan Counseling Center.  

Surviving Bob are his beloved wife, Carolyn; daughters, Cynthia (Dennis) Kubert and Kathryn Bough; grandsons, David (Kendall) Kubert and Michael (Christa) Kubert; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kohen, McKenna, Abraham; and several nieces and nephews.  Sadly, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Theron, Donald, Richard and Mildred.

The Bough family will receive guests at Heeney-Sunquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Road, Farmington on Friday, May 17, from 5-7 pm. 

Bob’s memorial service is scheduled for Saturday morning, May 18th, at 11 am (gathering 10-11 am) at Nardin Park United Methodist Church, 29887 W. Eleven Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.  Officiating the service will be Rev. Melanie Carey, Rev. George Covintree and Rev. Bob Roth. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, or the Nardin Park United Methodist Church.
