Nancy L. Boelens-Groen

April 3, 1947 – July 31, 2023

Pastor Nancy Lynn Boelens-Groen, age 76, of Grand Rapids, went to her eternal home on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nancy loved serving her community through being a pastor for the last 15 years. She served at Bath/Gunnisonville, Wayland, Sitka, Muskegon: Unity, Salem Indian Mission, and Bradley Indian Mission. She was a fierce advocate for domestic violence survivors and supported many people through that ministry.

Nancy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Herman and Beatrice Boelens; sisters, Lori, and Mary; sons, Timothy Mark Dykema, and Thomas Michael Dykema; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann, and Bernice Ruth.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger Groen-Boelens; children, Jody and Kevin Woodgate, Jeff and Karen Groen; daughter-in-law, Judy Dykema; grandchildren, Troy Dykema, Tyler Dykema, Taylor Dykema, Shyann Woodgate, and Tanner Dykema; great-grandchildren, Sterling, Sawyer, and Adaline; niece, Micki Jo Ranson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Joyce Groen.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday, August 20, from noon-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
