Gerald Albert Erskine, a local pastor, of Perrinton, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the age of 63. Gerald was born in Alma on May 15, 1959, the son of Gerald Erskine Sr. and Leah (Kessler) Erskine. Gerald graduated from Hobe Sound Bible College in Hobe Sound, Florida. He then pastored in North Carolina before moving back to Florida to help his father with his Lawn Business. Gerald served our country and protected our freedoms in the US Navy. Afterwards, he served as the pastor of the Fenwick United Methodist Circuit, and also worked as a Chaplain at Carson City Correctional Institution. Gerald loved to work on his boat, walk his dogs, and play “Animal Crossings” with his granddaughter, Charisma.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Marvelann; two children, Julie Carpenter, and Steven (Mildred) Erskine; grandchildren, Charisma, Alan, and Vilma. He is also survived by his siblings, Sherry Bishop and Mark Erskine.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Dawn Ellis.
Funeral Services for Gerald took place on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Lux Funeral Home in Carson City. Visitation was held Monday, June 20, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Burial at North Star Cemetery followed the service.
