Sanctuary As Resistance
February 23 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST

What does it mean for the church to be a place of refuge in times of crisis? How can faith communities and faithful Jesus followers respond to injustice with bold, compassionate action?
Join us for a conversation with the Reverend Dr. Jill Hardt Zundel, United Methodist Elder and former pastor of Central United Methodist Church in Detroit, MI. During her time at Central UMC, Rev. Dr. Zundel led the church in becoming a sanctuary congregation, offering protection and advocacy for those facing deportation. She will share her experiences, insights, and reflections on how sanctuary as an act of Christian witness and resistance.
Together, we’ll explore our role in standing in solidarity with, and caring for, our neighbors as we embody the call to love, justice, and hospitality.
This event is free and open to all.
