You don’t need to be a professional to make a difference. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is for anyone who wants to learn how to support friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors who may be facing mental health or substance use challenges. This nationally recognized training teaches you how to recognize the signs, offer reassurance, and connect people to the help they need—no experience required.
This course is part of our new Community Chaplaincy Program, made possible by a generous grant from the Central Bay District of the Michigan Conference of The United Methodist Church. Community Chaplaincy equips everyday people with the basic skills and confidence to offer meaningful support during life’s hard moments. Future sessions will include Suicide Awareness and Prevention, Trauma Informed Peer Support, Self Care for the Caregiver, and more!
Registration is free, and lunch and materials are provided. Space is limited—email register@ummecosta.org to reserve your spot today!
