Donald A. Fisher

May 15, 1958 – August 11, 2022

Donald Allen Fisher of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on August 11, 2022, at home in Battle Creek. Don was the husband of Retired Local Pastor Carolyn A. Robinson Fisher.

Don was born in Plymouth, Indiana to Glenna (Olson) and Donald Fisher on May 15, 1958. He grew up in Bronson, Michigan and graduated from Bronson High School in 1976. He went on to earn his associate’s degree in nursing from Glen Oaks. Later he continued his education at his beloved University of Michigan receiving his Bachelor of Science and Nursing Degree in 2017.

Don worked as a medical firefighter in Coldwater for 13 years. He also worked at Branch Area Transit Authority in Coldwater as a driver and a dispatcher. Don continued helping others working at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center for 12 years as an MDS Coordinator retiring in November of 2021.

Don loved his family, University of Michigan, traveling, golf, downhill skiing, watching sporting events, watching his grandchildren’s activities, roller coaster rides, and a variety of music.

Don is survived by his family whom he would refer to as “The Brady Bunch”, his wife Carolyn of 19 years; his mother Glenna (Olson) Fisher, Battle Creek; his sister Deb Fisher, Vicksburg; Don’s children, Rachel (Glen) Everett, Coldwater, and their children Alex and Alyssa; Rebecca Fisher, Swartz Creek, and Matt (Cassie) Fisher, Coldwater, and their children Adan, Ariana, Avery, Ava, Colton, Ashlynn, Daisy; Carolyn’s children Julie (Ed) Woodmansee, Dowling, and their children Greg (Carol) Woodmansee and Caitlyn (Gabe) Sutherland, Paul (Mindy) Hare, Mattawan, and their children Alex and Nick; Melinda (Steve) Shults, Hastings, and their children Ellen, Riley, and Matthew. Don loved being a grandpa and even better a great-grandpa and had three with one more arriving soon. Don had many nieces and nephews he also loved.

Don was preceded in death by his father Donald L. Fisher; his brothers Joseph Fisher and Richard Fisher; his sister-n-law Janice; his grandparents Floyd and Vera (Snyder) Fisher and Loren and Rosavene (Troupe) Olson; his children’s mother Joy (Barnes) Fisher; and his previous wife Susan (Fiscarelli) Fisher.

A memorial service was held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service in Battle Creek. Don was laid to rest at the Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall, Michigan.
