Camps offer early bird savings

Camps, campfires, and s'mores. Yum.

The three United Methodist camps in Michigan invite children, youth, and adults to summer adventures in faith, fun, and friendship.

DAVID BERKEY

Michigan Area United Methodist Camping

Thank you for helping connect children, youth, and adults to the United Methodist camping ministry in Michigan. Camp changes lives, and you are vital to making that happen.

Beyond the fun, independence, and adventure, Michigan Area United Methodist Campers will:

1. Experience Christian community. That means everyone is fully accepted and learns to include, value, and accept others.

2. Care for creation, honoring and respecting all living things.

3. Gain tools for growing in faith back home; things like prayer, reading the Bible, worship, Christian community, and serving others.

Wesley Woods Camp & Retreat (Dowling), Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat (Pentwater), and Lake Huron Retreat Center (Burtchville) are all ready to welcome campers. Now is the time to remind your family and friends to register for summer camp.

Those who register by April 30 get the Early Bird savings! Capacity in each camp event is limited due to COVID, so encourage families to sign up soon. Information and registration for all camps here.

The “New Camper” discount is available at any time, which provides a $50 rebate (mini-camps are $25) for both a first-time camper and the friend that invited them. Rebate coupon available here.

To help you tell the camping story, we have some digital resources — brochures, bulletin insert, social media graphics, and videos. Find those here.

Judy Hazle is your registrar and customer support contact. She can also help register campers and answer your questions. Contact Judy at her new number, which is 989-534-6587, or email [email protected].

NOW HIRING SEASONAL AND YEAR-ROUND STAFF

Your referrals will help fill ministry jobs at Wesley Woods and Lake Michigan sites. Please share our job postings. High school graduates, teachers, and other school-year employees are great candidates for seasonal camp jobs, from counselors to cooks and maintenance staff. Thank you for extending this opportunity to them.

If you know someone who loved going to camp and is 18 or older, they’ll love working at camp! Click here for employment opportunities and the application form.
