I love Annual Conference. It’s a chance to meet up with friends and colleagues I don’t see very often and to engage in debates around issues that truly affect our faith. Additionally, since stepping into the role of MI Benefits Guy, I have loved working to bring a commitment to wellness at Annual Conference.
Last year, it took the form of cardio drumming, chair yoga, dance breaks, and blood draw health screenings for our active health care participants. We received feedback that, while all of this was great, we should consider those who aren’t able to move as easily. I have spent the year thinking about what a commitment to wellness truly looks like for everyone.
That’s why I’m excited to announce that while cardio drumming, chair yoga, and dance breaks are returning, this year we are also introducing massage chairs. Four massage chairs will be located outside Governor’s Hall, and two will be positioned upstairs near the lobby.
We’re also introducing another opportunity to move by including walking yoga. We’re expanding our cardio drumming options since they were such a hit last year (we only had about 30 drum kits, but at least 60 people came to drum). So, be sure to check out the Annual Conference schedule for all these events
Finally, I want to remind you that if you are enrolled in our Active Blue Cross Blue Shield health plan, you can come for a blood draw health screening again this year. This service is free of charge and can sometimes help detect health issues early.
To register for a health screening, visit My.QuestForHealth.com. You’ll need to enter the Registration Key: michiganarea2025 and a Unique ID Configuration, which will be your Social Security Number. Spouses are also invited to participate, and their Unique ID is also their Social Security Number. If you encounter any issues while registering, please reach out to our office
I’ll see you in Traverse City!
