Register now for 2020 Annual Conference

At the present time, there is no plan to postpone the 2020 session of The Michigan Annual Conference. Conference planners will make that decision at the end of April.

March 25, 2020 | LANSING, — At this time the Executive Team for the Commission on the Annual Conference is balancing several factors with regard to the 2020 session of the Michigan Annual Conference, originally set for May 28-31 at Acme, MI.

Chairperson Nichea VerVeer Guy reports that the commission respects the guidelines of the CDC and the mandates set forth by Governor Whitmer concerning COVID-19. They are also taking into consideration the contractual obligations with the Grand Traverse Hotel.

At the present time, there are no plans to postpone the session. At the end of April, the Commission intends to make the final decision as to whether the May event will take place as scheduled. They will carefully weigh all factors when making that determination.

In the meantime, the Commission encourages persons to register for Annual Conference if they have not already done so. Online registration will remain open until April 30.

For the third year in a row, the Annual session will demonstrate an aspect of the vision statement of the Michigan Conference. Sowing Seeds: Rooting, Tending, Reaping is the theme of the 2020 Annual Conference. The focus of the conference is on equipping the local church for vibrant worship, strong lay leadership, and new ministries that engage the community.
