Keeping quiet, feeling alone

One seemingly “upbeat person” talks about the day the fog of depression began to lift.
“The more we can talk about mental health, the more we can de-stigmatize it,” says Laura Crawford, who has lived through her own personal experience with depression.

Almost 10% of the population of the U.S. battles depression. That’s tens of millions of people. “And many of us keep quiet, feeling alone,” Laura notes.

May is Mental Health Awareness month. Laura encourages everyone to, “Pay attention to yourself, and pay attention to your friends and family. Let them know they are not alone.”
