2016 Annual Conference registration open

For six days in June, United Methodists will gather on the campus of Michigan State University for a historic shared week of Annual Conference.

Clergy and laity from Detroit Conference and West Michigan Conference will join in this celebration of unity, fellowship, and worship. Together, we will honor the ministry of our Bishop, reignite our passion for mission and return home ready to share God’s love with the world.

  • WEDNESDAY JUNE 8 Detroit Annual Conference begins at 2:00PM at Jack Breslin Student Events Center.
  • THURSDAY JUNE 9 Detroit Annual Conference continues and West Michigan Annual Conference Clergy and Laity Sessions begin Thursday evening.
  • FRIDAY JUNE 10 Both conferences will join together to celebrate Bishop Deb as she approaches her retirement.  We will explore the work of the Design Team developing the new annual conference and engage in an Act of Repentance with Native American and Indigenous Peoples.
  • SATURDAY JUNE 11 Our theme SEND explores the role of mission in the church.  Our TOM talks: Transformation, Outreach and Mission will introduce us to people who are making it happen. The afternoon Mission Engagement session will allow you to learn more about specific mission opportunities or you can choose to engage in a local mission project. We will celebrate our efforts on Saturday evening with spectacular worship.
  • SUNDAY JUNE 12 A historic shared Ordination Service will be held followed by the start of the West Michigan Annual Conference sessions.
  • MONDAY JUNE 13 West Michigan Annual Conference concludes.

Information you will need to know before you register:

  1. The Annual Conference to which you belong.
  2. The name of your Annual Conference District.
  3. Your Local Church affiliation.
  4. Your Voting status (Member or Guest).
  5. Where you want to stay (on campus/residence hall, off campus, local hotel, commuting).
  6. How your church or ministry reimburses you for Annual Conference.

You also need to know: unlike other years at Calvin and Adrian Colleges, pre-registration is necessary. Early bird registration runs now through May 2. The last chance to register online is May 16. It will be very difficult, not impossible, but very difficult to register when you arrive in East Lansing on June 8. So make it easy on yourself and register in a timely way.
